I think they do. I'm not sure. I ordered mine in a quantity of 20 so I could do multiple builds. Then I ordered another set and they were cheaper because they had already done he validation etc. I'm not making anything on these it's just production cost. PCBWays is quite inexpensive and does small runs cheap.

Thanks Andrzej, There were trees in front of us and a gazebo type building to "stage right" for lack of a better term. I mixed this in Reaper with a bit of effects on her guitar, some overall compression on voice and guitar. We have a second song with different dynamics that I have to wait on posting as it is getting released on her label in November. (The song, not my specific recording of it.) I'm loving my mics and what they can do!Jules

The FET is acting as phase splitter. it isn't providing gain and we are pulling signals off of both "legs" of the FET. IN this case a bypass capacitor is not needed and would actually be detrimental to the circuit. The basic design here goes way back to the first solid state Schoeps microphones.

There are several equivalent FET's THey are getting harder to find. the P-301 and its family will work. And yes you can use a 1W 1Gig resistor. It is just larger.

You can plug the stereo on straight into a zoom recorder. Make sure "PIP" power is on for the 1/8" inputs (Called Ext Mic on my ZoomH4N)

Well now, that sounds like a project I need to do! The simplest means would be to use an external FET and 1gig resistor and then it "becomes" an internal FET capsule. A little more complicated than that. I am in process of moving and all my stuff is not here yet. I will work on this one!Jules

Thanks for asking, That 10uF cap acts as a filter for the internal supply voltage in the original Alice circuit. In my circuit the filter is formed by the capacitors and associated resistors on either "side" of the zener.

Thank you. I have not sorted out the body yet for the "Ambisonic Alice" I do have a3D printed saddle for the capsules. The body is next. It is my #1 project to get done now.

You can make it either 110 or 220VAC by selecting the transformer for the Power Supply. Just get one that is 110 or 220 for the primary and 24VAC center tapped for the secondary.Jules

To get to 30hz you would need to use larger drivers that I used here. A friend of mine built a great line array using 8 inch drivers for the main array and one inch silk dome tweeters. And... he used Purple Heart for the cabinet. I don't have his design but the concept it the same as what I am doing.Jules

The type of zener should not matter. You need one rated for 1/2W or better but they get larger as power rating goes up.Jules

Unfortunately USB supplies 5VDC so this won't work without additional electronics. It will work with a USB audio interface that supplies phantom power. Jules

Yes you can! a shotgun mic uses a tube with slits or holes to cause interference patterns thus a more directional sound. See this patent for more details. Or, just look at any commercially available one. Jules

Those are great ideas and I think comercial line arrays vary the power to each zone. I am planning on building a bigger set of these and redoing the tweeter array. commercial ones are set up as an backwards "J" with the bottom curve facing down. Just am crunched for spare time these days!Jules
